Mission Statement:

You will lead the execution of small to large and complex projects and ensure that all related activities are performed in accordance with Hitachi Energy Japan policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, as well as schedule commitments.

Main Accountabilities:

  • You will lead the project team, establishes the project execution approach and oversee project hand-over, execution planning, and monitoring and control activities for both internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals.

  • You will define project plan documents, including scope and financial plans, schedule and risk management plans.

  • You will ensure that the project follows execution best practices and HAPG policies, effectively monitors and controls project progress, monitor project progress and regularly analyzes project critical paths to ensure all critical path activities and project milestones are progressed to the plan, notifies Operation Group Manager of any deviations or scheduling issues, and implements actions for optimizing resources, issue progress reports, project updates and productivity data on a regular basis.

  • You will prepare materials for and delivers project reviews, conduct analysis of plan versus actual project performance under the supervision of the Operation Group Manager, monitor project cost, expenses, and cash flow, monitor, and manage requests for invoicing, based on project payment milestones.

  • You will identify, qualify, quantify and manage project risks, and ensure that all opportunities are identified and pursued, capture, analyze and share lessons learned throughout the project.

  • You will ensure that the project is formally closed out, as contractually agreed, drive the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and its acknowledgement by the customer.

  • You will ensure that the project consistently applies contract and claims management, in accordance with HAPG policies and contractual agreements, successfully procures all required services, materials and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers.

  • You will act as the key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues, build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicates with all stakeholders, monitor and maintain various project registers – e.g., project transmittal register, issues & actions register, risk and opportunities register, deliverable & quality register, documentation register, etc.

  • You will effectively communicate appropriate information to project team, customers, and other stakeholders in a timely manner and to achieve desired understanding.

  • You will ensure the project follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies, ensure safe working procedures and practices are followed at all times including the wearing and maintenance of assigned Personal Protective Equipment as required, attendance at required health, safety and environment training, report injury, incidents, hazards and near miss events, model safe work behaviors in all aspects of work and actively identify hazards and risk controls.

Requirement:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree or 5 years’ experience in a similar role; preferably holds nationally and or internationally recognized project management training and certifications – e.g., PMP.

  • Proficient with MS Word and MS Excel; Proficient maintaining schedules for projects using recognized project scheduling tools; Proficient organizer; Ability to influence and coordinate stakeholders.

  • 3-5 years in a similar role – e.g., Associate Project Manager, Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Project Engineer.

  • Project management for construction of the high voltage substation would be better.
