Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Construction Manager (Construction Engineer) who thrives in a fast-paced environment.  The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic.  The position is based in Oakland, CA.

Accountabilities

  • Perform construction engineering based tasks for the construction team.
  • Work under the direction of the local Sr. Construction Manager for project tasks.
  • Preparing and processing of multiple project documents: RFI's, CDRL's, Product Submittals, Change Orders, Work Plans, Constructability, Shop Drawings, Letters, Changes Log.
  • Meeting minutes for construction and installation related meetings.
  • Coordinate with 3rd parties and attend plus hosts meetings.
  • Work to provide clarity between Functional Engineering and Construction/Installation Group.
  • Construction requirements management in DOORS.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Sub-Contractor for progress and disputes. Document the same.

Required Skills/ Knowledge

  • Self starter.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking.
  • 10+ years experiences.
  • Knowledge of local rules and standards
  • Planning and organization
  • Knowledge of software tools (Bluebeam, DOORS)
  • HSE
  • Project and Construction Management
  • Requirements Management.

Education / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related area, or equivalent education and job experience.
  • California P.E. is a plus.
  • California Contractor's License is a plus

Languages

  • English Proficiency

The salary range for this position is $101,000 to $151,000 per year.  Final pay is determined by the candidate’s experience, skillset and ability level, internal equity and location.
