HGG Job Profile:

Manufacturing Production Process Engineering focuses on designing, developing, and implementing new or revised production processes for the efficient/economical mass production of goods including: Designing arrangement of manufacturing equipment to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designing the sequence of production operations, specifying procedures for the fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapting machinery in response to factory conditions. Conducting tests throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshooting/solving production problems. Providing guidance to product design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensuring that production processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations A Team Leader (M2) supervises professional level employees (typically entry or experienced level) and may also supervise some para-professional employees. Responsibilities typically include: Setting goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results. Problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex. Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders.

Tasks:

Lead the Process Engineering function that supports the Jefferson City high volume manufacturing operation for padmount distribution transformers. Develop and execute a Capital Expenditure plan and budget that meets the longterm strategic plan for the business. Develop a lean manufacturing culture for continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivity.

Assure the effective implementation, maturity assessment and improvement of all processes along the entire value chain to improve customer satisfaction and increase profitability in a safe working environment across the local business.

Responsibilities:
 

  • Develop the Capital Expenditure (CapEx) budget plan each year and execute. 
  • Coordinate the improvement of the manufacturing processes to improve productivity. 
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing concepts and Six Sigma concepts to -improve productivity and quality.
  • Improve equipment throughput and uptime.
  • Implement processes to Improve Safety in manufacturing with proactive equipment improvements and engineering out process & equipment hazards in the workplace.
  • Identify and coordinate projects that support the manufacturing group.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives with proper tooling, job set ups and work instructions.
  • Achieve the Opex cost out targets and achieve annual departmental budget.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering related disciplines.
  • 10+ years of business/operations management or manufacturing experience with management responsibilities
  • 5+ years’ experience with technical mastery of continuous improvement tools and methodologies
  • 5+ years of Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Six Sigma Certification
  • Interpersonal skills that build productive relationships and influence others, both within the business and across organizations.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the business and present complex or new ideas with clarity and simplicity
  • Excellent project management and prioritization skills. 
  • Solid business acumen
  • Able to deliver results despite shifting environment.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: 
    • Able to identify problems; apply structured and disciplined methodology to identify root cause using data. 
  • Innovative and effective solution development, risk mitigation and execution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master Degree in Science or Engineering related disciplines
  • 2+ years supervisory experience
  • Black Belt Certification
