One very important pillar is to evolve the overall SCM maturity shaping Tomorrow Today with a focus on improving our Strategic Sourcing capabilities covering subjects such as advancing our strategic sourcing methodology, progressing our negotiations approaches and improving our strategic sourcing tool landscape.

The Strategic Sourcing Methods and /Tools manager has the following main accountabilities:

  • Maintain and train the Hitachi Energy strategic sourcing methodology and any other strategic sourcing related activities
  • Embed new elements in the standards strategic sourcing process, considering especially external regulations such as sustainability standards, which have an impact on selecting suppliers
  • Provide guidance how to establish category strategies supporting a more resilient and agile supply base.
  • Maintain and develop the strategic sourcing tool landscape for the various stakeholders covering Hitachi Energy’s products and project business
  • Support category managers by providing an easy to access category strategy repository
  • Establish and oversee a gate model for strategic sourcing in close collaboration with Business Units TT&L and IM&S 
  • Attend category review sessions as advisor on request of the Businesses, TT&L and IM&S (eg CIPS sessions, Dynamic evolution)
  • Promote eSourcing adaptation within Hitachi Energy
  • Advance the collaboration with the Hitachi corporate Procurement department and oversee synergy projects.

  • Scope: SCM Function globally, whereby key stakeholder are category managers and the SCM Council members

Challenges

  • Facilitate the integrity of the Hitachi Energy standard Strategic Sourcing approach while continuously improving its scope
  • Collaborate closely with Business Units and other Functions to maintain a comprehensive end-to-end strategic sourcing approach
  • Proving a easy to use category strategy repository

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, able to engage different teams working on a common improvement journey
  • Good understanding of SCM strategic sourcing processes
  • Experience in working within a matrix organization, able to influence people without direct reporting lines
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant business experience
  • Fluent in English
  • Cultural sensitivity and work experience in an international environment
