We have an exciting opportunity for a junior System-Software Tester/Integrator to join us working in a dynamic team of Traffic Management System V&V Engineers based in our Brisbane office. You will be working in a diverse multicultural team which is driven by a common goal to achieve success.

The suitable candidate will have an understanding of software intensive systems’ testing and integration activities, software verification and validation best practices based on international standards, with a strong desire to learn and improve software quality and test efficiency.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Accountabilities will include but not limited to:

  • Guarantee an effective and efficient preparation and execution of Factory and Site Tests to verify and validate against the system requirements, system architecture, interfaces and operating scenarios.
  • Increase and consistently improve the automation of software testing supporting a continuous integration environment.
  • Expand our existing test automation framework and test coverage.
  • Contribute to the issuing of the test and integration plans and ensure the integration activities implementation by a strict adhering to the project’s activities and indicators.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a list of project issues, making sure that this list is discussed and agreed with the Team Lead.
  • Capacity to engage constructively and respectfully with individuals of diverse backgrounds and ability to achieve high quality outcomes.

  

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in System/Software Engineering or Information Technology
  • Rail Industry Worker card and competencies (eligible to obtain)

Skills & Experience:

  • Good logical reasoning and problem investigation/solving skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare test artefacts to a high standard
  • Knowledge of software lifecycle standards is highly regarded
  • Good knowledge in various programming/scripting languages, e.g. Java, Python, Selenium
  • Familiarity with software platforms, e.g. Linux, VMware, Podman/Dockers
  • Understanding of relational database technologies, e.g. MySQL, MariaDB
  • Understanding of network topologies
