Hitachi Rail is currently seeking a Senior Commissioning Manager to manage the testing and commissioning activities on railway systems projects and coordinate the integration of the railway systems in accordance with the contract schedule and the budget.

This is permanent full-time role based out of our Sydney office - North Ryde

The accountabilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Defining Hitachi's plan to execute of the commissioning activities (e.g. sequence of activities, staging requirements) in alignment with contract requirements, budget and company guidelines.
  • Ensure that the test and commissioning activities are executed in alignment with the Work, Health and Safety requirements of the company and the project
  • Ensuring alignment with project Budget proposal;
  • Overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of Test Procedures;
  • Ensuring the planning and execution of the Testing and Commissioning activities integrate effectively at the project level;
  • Assure the correct allocation of skilled resources to the commissioning activities in accordance with the approved project schedule;
  • Ensuring the timely production of Test Reports at the project level;
  • Accountable for the site interface management with the Client/Engineer/Third parties during the planning and execution of the test and commissioning phase
  • Ensuring an efficient hand hover of the system from commissioning to maintenance team
  • Supporting the Functional Manager in the evaluation of the performance of assigned resources and identifying training needs

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH:

•             Bachelor Degree in Engineering or similar field;

•             5-10 years' experience in a similar role in the Rail Signal industry with demonstrated capability and skills in:

o             Budgeting and cost estimation

o             Railway equipment and environment

o             Use of Test tools

o             Use of Database tools

o             Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite

o             Incident/accident investigation

o             Knowledge of ERP and Configuration Management tools

o             Knowledge of tendering process

•             The candidate also needs to be willing to travel as required by the project.
