Application Development Lead (Azure Technology Stack)

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Application Development Lead who is well-versed in the Azure technology stack and possesses expertise in various aspects of application development, including CI/CD, Microservices, APIs, full stack programming, and integration. As the Application Development Lead, you will lead a team of developers and be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering scalable and high-quality applications on the Azure cloud platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide technical leadership to drive successful application development projects.

Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of developers and provide technical guidance and mentorship to ensure the successful delivery of application development projects.
- Design, develop, and deploy applications leveraging the Azure technology stack, including Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure API Management, and Azure Logic Apps.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to understand application requirements and translate them into technical specifications and architectural designs.
- Drive the implementation of CI/CD practices and establish robust development and deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps or other relevant tools.
- Architect and develop Microservices-based solutions, leveraging containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs, ensuring proper authentication, authorization, and data security measures.
- Implement full stack programming, including frontend development using frameworks like Angular or React, and backend development using technologies such as .NET, Java, or Node.js.
- Integrate applications with external systems and third-party services using APIs, message queues, or event-driven architectures.
- Conduct code reviews, perform quality assurance testing, and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, provide guidance on performance optimization, and drive continuous improvement of application development processes.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Azure technologies and industry trends, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance application development capabilities.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in application development, with a strong focus on the Azure technology stack.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Java, or JavaScript, with expertise in full stack development.
- Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Microservices architecture, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, including knowledge of API security and best practices.
- Familiarity with frontend development frameworks such as Angular or React.
- Strong understanding of integration patterns and technologies like message queues, event-driven architectures, and API gateways.
- Expertise in CI/CD practices and tools, preferably Azure DevOps.
- Solid understanding of Agile development methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and guide a team of developers.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications in Azure or application development.
- Experience with serverless computing on Azure, using Azure Functions or Logic Apps.
- Knowledge of data storage and database technologies on Azure, such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, or Azure Data Lake Storage.
- Understanding of authentication and authorization protocols like OAuth and OpenID Connect.
- Familiarity with frontend testing frameworks and methodologies.
- Experience with performance tuning, scalability, and security considerations in application development.

As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected base salary for this position is $140k-$165k + Bonus+ Benefits

The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Vantara's bonus/variable/commission pay programs, where applicable, and are subject to the program's conditions and restrictions.
