Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Associate Control Center System Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Genoa, Italy.

Mission

The resource shall be able to organize, setting up and manage the activities of the Integrated LAB and related to the testing and delivery process according to the projects milestones. Therefore, he/she shall be able to integrate several technologies by planning the activities and making sure those will be executed on time.

Accountabilities

In particular, the activities to be provided will be:

  • Participate to the definition of the integrated LAB design solution that will involve several technologies
  • Participate to the definition of activities to setup the integrated LAB according to the projects milestones;
  • Plan, design, and execution of integrated tests (FAT, FIT, simulations);
  • Plan, design, and manage of commissioning tests;
  • Manage the issue tracking for the integrated tests (RTC application used)
  • Responsible of writing technical deliverables and/or reports and/or presentations;
  • Collaborate with the different company departments;
  • Capitalize the projects experience and knowledge sharing (best practice, lesson learned).

Required skills & knowledge

  • Capability to define, assign and verify requirements to implement architectures of complex systems.
  • Experience in integration of multiple technological sub-systems, with SW and HW integration capabilities (including virtual machines, VMWARE)
  • Experience in execution of IXL and RBC test (SIG testing)
  • Deep use of RTC issue tracking
  • Deep use of Computer Aided Design tools (Microsoft Project, Visio, Excel)
  • Knowledge of key programming languages: C/C++, Python, Java, Web/Html
  • knowledge Linux Operating System both for users and administrators
  • Capability on achieving assigned objectives on time
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set and team spirit.
  • Attitude to team working (in international environment and adapted to different cultures is a plus)
  • Good written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information
  • Knowledge of railway business environment and customers is a plus
  • Willingness to travel: 25%

Education

Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology Qualifications/University Degree or Equivalent Technical Background

Language

English: Upper intermediate level required, any additional language would be a plus.
