Hitachi Energy is establishing a Global SAP S/4HANA Solution (Program REIWA) to drive standardization and harmonization of processes and to ensure efficient delivery of services for the business units. We have a strong focus on business value driven innovation and delivery as core competencies.

The IT SAP Release Manager will be a member of the IT Platform & Applications team and will be responsible for the design, integrity and quality of the global SAP S/4HANA environment and surrounding solutions.

The Release Manager needs to interface and communicate with Test Managers, Dev Managers, IT Ops/AMS and the PMO on a daily basis. Equally, a Release Manager must be confident enough to manage up and provide reporting as well as meeting updates to the Senior IT Management including program Manger as well as business manager if necessary.

He/She is responsible for efficient Release Management of the global SAP S/4HANA Solution, starting from Planning and Scoping of the SAP Release to the efficient Build and deployment of it. He/She needs to drive the release through the different cycles and secure alignment and communication with stakeholders.

Additionally, the releases/cycles can be inclusive of application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, Projects and Programs. Where necessary you’ll provide tools and services to help product management and project teams manage and deploy releases into production.

The IT SAP Release Manager needs to have a solid technical background in SAP Solution Manager, ideally in SAP Focused Build and Service Now

Main Responsibilities

• Define Release Calendar after alignment with stakeholders
• Plan individual Releases and alignment across system landscape
• Align Scope of the release with stakeholders (product owners, Phase Leads, Cluster Leads and RUN team)
• Manage Technical readiness of the Release with Stakeholders
• Work with platform, Infrastructure, Basis and Security team for system availability and deployments (Across landscape)
• Coordinate, Review and manage deployment (Data, transports, interfaces etc. With Dev team, Testing team) per release schedule (Includes Testing and production deployments)
• Provide regular release updates to Program and IT delivery management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline. Master’s degree in related discipline preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience within Information Technology industry.
• 5+ years of solution implementation experience across various IT areas with focus in the SAP ERP Software
• 5+ years’ experience in SAP Solution Manager, ideally also experience with SAP Focused Build
• Certification in S/4 HANA, and/or other SAP Solutions.
• Ability to provide leadership to ensure effective solutions that drive business value are created and implemented, in an environment of virtual teams.
• Awareness of latest technology, developments and offerings from SAP and their future direction.
• Able to sort through complex issues and make timely decisions.
• Ability to generate new ideas, challenge status quo, take risks, support change and foster innovation.
• Fluent English language and good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to effectively communicate with business and IT stakeholders
