Description
We have open position in Hitachi Energy Research Center in Krakow, Poland. We are looking for a person with background in mechanical engineering who has interest and knowledge in computer simulations and numerical modeling.
You will be working in a team of about thirty scientists who are developing the new products and technologies for Hitachi Energy. Every day we are searching for next-generation solutions and work on their implementation to make energy distribution and transmission more sustainable, flexible, and secure. With our work, we want to contribute to efforts that are made to solve global challenges related to inequalities and climate changes.
Our people have different educational backgrounds, come from different countries, and have different age and experience. We value creativity and support self-development and knowledge shearing. Diversity, equality, and inclusion are our principles and key ingredients to foster open and collaborative working environment.
The job we offer is a mix of cooperation in a small team and independent work. You will have opportunity to create simulation models of various Hitachi Energy products – starting from single components up to large, complex, and multi-part devices. The obtained results will be used in the research and development projects for verification of the new design concepts, optimization of the performance, and checking the reliability and durability.
In this work, you will encounter various types of mechanical analyzes – e.g. static, dynamic, fatigue, seismic. It makes this job diverse and creates an opportunity to develop new competences. You will be involved in the whole process of mechanical simulations – starting with gathering requirements and data from factory engineers, through preparation of the model geometry, meshing, setup of the materials and boundary conditions, running calculations with dedicated software, results analysis, and ending with preparation of the summary reports and presentation of the obtained results and recommendations.
Most likely you will start with guidance and supervision, and over a time you will work more independently and run simulation projects by yourself.
We are looking for a person with at least master’s degree in mechanical engineering who has interest, knowledge and some experience with computer simulations and with simulation software for mechanical calculations. In our team we are using Abaqus, Ansys, HyperWorks, PTC Creo – any familiarity with these programs is beneficial.
We are searching for people who are open to learn, have ability to collaborate in a diverse team, and want to grow and with time take new responsibilities.
As the international company, we regularly cooperate with partners in other countries. For this reason, we require a good command of spoken and written English.
