We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager for Wireless Communications to join Hitachi Energy!

In this role, you will be part of the Global Product Group (GPG) Grid Automation Products and responsible for the Supply Chain management (SCM) organization.
The product group provides world-class protection and control solutions to ensure reliable power transmission and distribution as well as communication technology for power transmission, transportation and public infrastructure.

The SCM Manager can be located in Baden, Switzerland OR Mannheim, Germany.

Your responsibilities

  • Work in close cooperation with the local Product Groups and Global Category Manager to draw up a well-judged purchasing strategy for electrical components, electronic manufacturing services and mechanical parts as well as software and services

  • Work with the R&D organization to drive make-or-buy decision and run design to value R&D projects as well as new product introductions

  • Drive new R&D collaboration models with Suppliers (co-creation and full lifecycle supplier integration)

  • Oversee performance of the supply chain and ensure responsiveness to customer requirements and initiate remedial measures, as appropriate

  • Ensure highest standards of quality from suppliers and continuous supply of material  and components

  • Maintain and build long term supplier relationships with the Product Groups key suppliers. Map actual sourcing structure from end products to raw material. Design and implement plans for future sourcing strategy to reach the business targets incl. the reduction of lead times and the optimization of logistical processes

  • Drive the automation of SCM processes (e.g. order process, invoice process, digital supply chain)

  • Lead supplier evaluation, qualification, and development, in addition to price negotiation and frame agreements. Coordinate and support supply management organizations in day-to-day issues within the product group and ensure attainment of defined targets (quality, logistics, material cost and net working capital)

  • Ensure adherence in the Supply Chain to company standards and guidelines as well as a legal requirements

Your background

  • The successful candidate will preferably have extensive experience in the industrial environment, from a system business and from strategic supply chain management, as well as possess good technical knowledge in power transmission technologies and electronic manufacturing supply markets. Holds a University degree in a relevant field

  • You will have experience in sales and operations planning, procurement and sourcing but also in the set-up of supply chain and logistic structures

  • As you will be working in a global environment, it is necessary that you have international experience and that you are fluent in English, written and spoken alike, whereas knowledge of Swedish and/ or German is a plus

  • A certain flexibility with regard to working with different time zones and travelling due to the global scope (i.e. strong US focus) is needed

  • On a personal level, you are an analytical leader and a team player with an independent and solutions-oriented working style, as well as strong communicative and collaborative skills. Through extensive experience in negotiations you achieve commitment as well as results

  • A strong sense of ownership will help you take responsibility for planning, initializing and monitoring strategic sourcing activities for projects and business
