Description

Responsibilities

• Methodical formulation and development of new inks under guidance from senior members and taking established concepts and trying new and creative things
• Continual researching, learning, and maintaining updated chemical knowledge of raw materials for the use in ink formulation, finding new raw materials by communicating with the suppliers, technical departments of those suppliers to support development strategies
• Communicating chemistry concepts to the team and non-technical customers
• Test new fluids on continuous inkjet printers to confirm stability, usability, and performance these items will need to be recorded and properly reported according to established standards to the Quality department for review
• Investigate and propose solutions to printer issues as it pertains to the fluid
• Perform established tests on developed products intermittently in a controlled environmental chamber at temperatures from 0-50C wearing proper gear (provided insulated jacket and pants) to maintain personal safety and ensure product quality in the most extreme conditions
• Report testing results and observations to senior chemist and follow a phase gate process to release the product
• Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean working laboratory environment in compliance with OSHA and local safety regulations
• Responsible for supporting maintenance, calibration, and accuracy of instrumentation and report issues to senior members and involved in learning the repair or communication process with companies, responsibility supported by lab technician
• Responsible for maintaining supply and inventory of laboratory materials and disposables by preparing orders for items to be replenished
• Other reasonably assigned duties as it requested for the project, facility, or sales needs
