Description

HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. It is also used to connect power systems.


Both the HVDC market and the aim of new HVDC quality solutions and products are growing. Therefore, we need to strengthen our team with more R&D Project Managers that also wants to contribute to our team, our products, our company and to the global society and environment.

We are 20 R&D Project Managers that execute HVDC R&D projects within System, C&P, Valve and Digitalization. A project can be a study, to develop a product from idea to production, improvements, or collaboration with customers, universities or global organizations.

This position is placed in Ludvika or Västerås. It is also possible to work partly remote based on the project situation and after agreement with manager.

Your responsibilities

  • In this advertisement we are looking for several R&D Project Managers that will work in 3 different R&D HVDC areas: Valve, System and Digitalization.
  • You will be responsible for your Project and support your Project Team, your Portfolio, the HVDC Roadmap and the global environment.
  • You will be involved in requirements, pre-study, design, development of cutting-edge technologies, verification, documentation and productification.
  • In your projects, you are responsible for budget, planning, executing, milestones, releases, Gates and reporting/informing about status, forecasts and when changes do occur.
  • You will collaboration with your Project Team, other Development Teams, Manufactures, Testing facilities, Stakeholders, Product Owners, Line management ect.
  • As an R&D Project Manager you will be a part of R&D Project Management Office. As a team we are all responsible to work on our processes, quality, learn from/help each other and to develop individually and as a team.

Your background

  • University degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in electrical engineering or similar.
  • Knowledge and experience from HVDC technology and/or R&D Development. Preferably within areas like HVDC, Electronics, Mechanics, Electrical, Simulations, Testing or Digitalization.
  • You have good leadership qualities and has worked as a project manager for several years.
  • To thrive in this position you are a good team player, structured, open-minded, communicative and enjoy working together with people from all over the world.
  • Proficient in English since you will be part of an international setting where you will get to exchange knowledge with people globally.
  • As a person you have a passion for people and technology
