Job DescriptionAs part of Hitachi Solutions Leadership Team, the VP of Sales (Azure), will be responsible for partnering with the existing Canadian Sales team to drive Azure related demand within the account base(s) assigned to these existing sellers (new and existing). Given the complimentary nature of our compensation model, collaboration between the Azure VP of Sales and existing sellers is highly incented. In addition to selling 'with' existing sellers, as a Player/Coach, the Azure VP of Sales will be responsible for generating business independent of the existing sellers. The Azure VP of Sales variable income will be affected both through individual and team results.
An equally important component to the Azure VP of Sales' responsibilities depends on working with the General Manager, Canada, to design and execute a strategy designed to drive exponential growth. For example, optimizing our existing sales model, extending new and existing Microsoft relationships, strategic partner relationships, go to market motions, events, webinars, etc. Essentially, they'll be responsible for building and executing the plan(s) that support the growth of Hitachi Solutions Canadian Azure business - which would likely include (when the rationale exists) the hiring of direct reports.
Required Skills:- A Successful Hitachi Solutions VP of Sales (Azure) will have at least 10 years of professional experience in a senior digital services sales / sales leadership role, driving growth through new customer acquisition and expanding footprint within existing customer base. A significant portion of their digital services sales experience should be focused on Azure-based selling.
- Passionate digital transformational expert with an entrepreneurial bent, allowing them to move fluidly from business development/marketing activities to closing large, transformational deals.
- Strategic insight and proven, in-depth experience in leading an enterprise sales organization and 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in a matrixed software organization.
- Demonstrated success working as a top sales executive with revenue scale of $50 to 75+ million for a leading digital solutions and services company selling to CIO, CDO and business executives.
- Solid domain knowledge in Microsoft's Azure suite of products and services.
- Experience building a sales management infrastructure capable of maintaining solid quarter-to-quarter revenue and bookings growth rates, while demonstrating excellent pipeline, process, forecasting, demand generation, and sales assessment predictability.
- Collaborative attitude with a focus on delivering quality and instilling organizational and personal commitment to excellence.
- Demonstrated understanding of market development strategies and customer decision-making processes with a proven record in successfully building brand recognition and market awareness.
- Proven ability to perform in a consultative manner and foster trust and cooperation with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Experience in complex, dynamic environments with the ability to learn quickly and contribute immediately.
Key focus areas and responsibilities:- Develop, guide and lead a high performance, consultative sales organization capable of rapidly growing revenue within targeted market segments and major accounts, while integrating professional sales process and sales methodologies.
- Strategy development & execution, related to sales, growth & profitability. Provide strategic sales direction and guidance to the executive team and senior leaders.
- Develop, implement, and monitor tactical and strategic go-to-market strategies to meet the quarterly and annual booking goals and revenue targets by establishing sales goals and monitoring their achievements.
- Partner with key stakeholders across Marketing, Alliances and Sales Operations to support continuous improvement.
- Create valuable data-driven metrics to which sales professionals can be held accountable, resulting in increased revenue and efficiencies.
- Develop, operationalize and execute best practices to support account plans, quotas and sales and account management execution.
- Generate and manage a revenue mix consisting of revenue from direct sales and channel partners, including public cloud providers and technology partners.
- Maintain a close working relationship with other members of the executive Sales team globally and contribute to the strategic and tactical success of Hitachi Solution's core business.
Qualifications- Minimum Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred
- 10 or more years direct sales and sales leadership within a Software Managed Services and/or Cloud and Infrastructure environment to enterprise accounts within strategic technology business applications and complex solutions
- 5 years or more preferably selling Microsoft Azure-based Applications and Services including Azure Cloud Capabilities MSFT D365 AI/Data/Power BI, Azure ML, Power Platform, Product Engineering, Application Modernization and Cloud Managed Services.
- Proven track record of working at senior levels across Microsoft (Partner Manager, Marketing Team, etc), Partners and/or Key Customer Relationships
- Prior experience managing, attracting, retaining and developing a sales team capable of advancement and supporting Company goals and directives
- Working knowledge of solution selling methodology and practice
- Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong relationship building skills and ability to be a knowledgeable adviser to clients/prospects with a well-developed consultative selling style
- Flexibility to travel when needed.
