Hitachi Energy offers power and automation products, systems and service solutions across the generation, transmission and distribution value chain - enabling a stronger, smarter and greener power grid. We are seeking a Global Product Compliance Specialist to be based in Europe who will be part of our business function Legal and Integrity. This role will report to the Head of L&I Regulatory Affairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, interpret and advise on product related regulations that impact the Hitachi Energy product portfolio
  • Drive and guide legal responses to officials, coordinate with business and functional stakeholders
  • Provide guidance and conduct training to internal stakeholders on relevant product compliance regulations
  • Drive product compliance related projects cross functionally
  • Oversee relevant product related data and drive data improvements as well as automation/digitalization, and harmonization
  • Embed product compliance, recording and declaration into existing processes and tools (portal, SharePoint, SAP, gate models, etc.)
  • Proactively identify and resolve product compliance related issues and challenges
  • Create and maintain the appropriate corporate regulations and standards for product compliance; create interfaces with existing applications just as SFDC for example
  • Living core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business

Your background:

  • Degree in Chemistry, Materials or Engineering with legal background or Legal Degree with workable knowledge in Chemistry, Materials or Engineering
  • Several years of experience in working in or with multinational enterprises with large matrix organizations
  • Extensive experience with product compliance regulations globally, with a focus on chemical and material compliance
  • Experience in creating visual dashboards, managing product compliance data and metrics
  • Experience in Project Management and managing external Consultants and law firms
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and ERP systems (SAP)
  • High customer and solution orientation paired with a communicative personality, enjoying to take ownership and accountability
  • Hands-on and problem-solving mentality to challenge "status quo"
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills Willingness to develop the role and scope considering evolving regulatory environment Fluent English, other languages an asset Willingness to travel (10-20%)
