DevOps Automation Engineer

A DevOps Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions that streamline software development, deployment, and operations processes. They work closely with development, operations, and quality assurance teams to optimize and enhance the software delivery lifecycle, leveraging tools and technologies to automate build, test, and deployment processes. The role requires expertise in scripting, configuration management, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, infrastructure as code, and cloud platforms. The DevOps Software Automation Engineer plays a crucial role in enabling efficient and reliable software delivery, fostering collaboration, and driving the adoption of DevOps practices within an organization.

What you'll be doing

The DevOps Automation Engineer will actively implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins for automated software builds, testing, and deployments. Automating hybrid, multi-cloud Kubernetes and system provisioning. Configuring GitHub as a source code management platform, ensuring version control, branch management, and code reviews. The engineer will automate artifact management with JFrog Artifactory, optimizing repositories and deployment processes. Integrating SonarQube and security tools into CI/CD pipelines, performing code quality checks and providing insights for improvement. By maintaining standardized pipeline templates, you will enhance consistency and efficiency, enabling development teams to deliver high-quality software quickly.

  • Strong Automation Skills: The DevOps Software Automation Engineer should possess excellent automation skills, including proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Groovy). They automate workflows, optimize processes, and eliminate manual tasks.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: This role requires a strong problem-solving mindset. The engineer analyzes complex technical issues, identifies root causes, and proposes effective solutions. They troubleshoot and resolve CI/CD, source code management, and security tool integration issues.
  • Collaboration and Communication: The engineer is a team player with excellent communication skills. They collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and quality assurance, articulating ideas and providing constructive input.
