The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.
Act as the responsible commissioning engineer overseeing the installation and commissioning of Bay level secondary equipment’s. Manage completion of all commissioning activities efficiently and cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Responsible for design, optimized engineering, commissioning and troubleshooting of Bay level secondary equipment’s for domestic and overseas customers.
Developing, deploying and maintaining a bay level secondary equipment’s includes designing hardware and software functional specifications for secondary equipment’s like Protection relays, Auxiliary relays, Meters, AVR, Control & protection schemes etc.
Concept of stability (Line, Transformer & Bus Bar) and responsible for design activity using CAD are any other tool.
Creates work plans and cost estimates for work in own area of responsibility and proactively manages this work to deliver the agreed program on time, on quality and at targeted cost.
Represents the Protection function at risk review meetings throughout the project life cycle e.g., hazard and operability study and hazard identification study reviews in the design phase and the Commissioning panel during the commissioning phase.
Conducts risk and opportunity assessments in real time during the commissioning phase to ensure safe implementation of the commissioning philosophy and identification of potential variation requests to support contract claims. Reports early any contract/quality/program/cost issues to management, along with recommendations for resolution.

Bachelor's degree in B.E/B.TECH - Electrical.
Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in Bay Level control & protection Relay testing.
Knowledge on Control & Interlock logics and functionalities.
Knowledge on Transformer and Bus bar protection logics and functionalities.
Knowledge on control & protection scheme check.
Knowledge on HE Bay level control & Protection softwares such as PCM, REB500 HMI all versions.
Knowledge on other manufacturer IED application software’s such as Digsi, Micom S1 Agile, S1 studio, Digisi, SEL Quick set, SE EaSergy etc.
Knowledge on basic SAS functionalities, CID, SCD files and troubleshooting.
Knowledge on test kit such as Omicron (CMC 356 & 256), Doble & other test kit.
Design tool knowledge in preparing base/detail schematic (CAD).
