Description

As HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) Control & Protection Systems and HMI Project Engineer (f/m/d), you will be a member of HVDC Service and jointly responsible for the maintenance and upgrade of HVDC transmission systems. The protection, control and visualization components are extremely important for the reliable and proper operation of an HVDC transmission system.
Your use ensures the operation of critical power transmission systems - now and in the future. 
As HVDC Control & Protection Systems and HMI Project Engineer (f/m/d) you are part of a team and jointly responsible for a wide range of tasks.

Your responsibilities

• You will support the project planning of technical solutions and upgrades across all project phases, starting with the bidding phase, through implementation, acceptance and installation, to commissioning and handover to the end customer

• You generate, revise and check documents that completely and correctly reflect the scope of delivery, taking into account relevant interfaces

• You take part in meetings to address topics concerning your scope of delivery and interfaces

• You support the creation of schedules and budgets

• You interact with colleagues, end customers as well as suppliers

• You will visit HVDC transmission systems to assess the current status of relevant equipment and to perform maintenance activities

• You support colleagues and end customers with fault clearance measures

Your background

• You have a university degree in electrical engineering, IT or automation engineering, or a comparable qualification, in a relevant technical field    

• You are proficient in HiDraw, which you can use to convert protection and control applications into code and test them; 

• Alternatively, you have experience with MicroSCADA, SQL and InTouch applications.

• You know and have experience with virtual machines, network interfaces, gateway servers and IEC protocols.

• You are fluent in written and spoken English; other foreign languages are welcome

• You like to work as part of an international team and are confident in handling virtual communication tools

• You have a high degree of independence and planning competence, work independently and communicate proactively

• You are willing to travel 10-30% of the time
