Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Project Quality Assurance Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate has proven track record delivering complex and international projects +$100 million, in Systems Delivery

The position is based in Brisbane, QLD

Project specific

Ensure all activities comply with both contractual and Hitachi Rail STS/international quality standards.

Business Management

  • Support Project Manager to ensure definition and updating of Project Quality System (including Project Quality Management Plan) are in alignment with Hitachi Global Business Management System (GBMS) and Quality contractual requirements.
  • Ensure customer expectations and contractual Quality requirements are met by verifying their application in all Project phases.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of Project Quality Assurance processes and promote quality changes aimed at increasing effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ensure improvement of project team efficiency through implementation and updating of Project Quality System.

Business Execution

  • Verify compliance of project activities and relevant documentation to company processes and guidelines for Quality Assurance at regional level.
  • Identify Project Quality System requirements; establish, implement and update Project Quality System (including Project Quality Management Plan).
  • Monitor fulfillment of Project Quality Management Plan requirements.
  • Analyze project-related Nonconformities, and monitor implementation of relevant corrections and corrective actions to closure.
  • Follow up across whole project lifecycle from Design to Testing & Commissioning to ensure expected quality level.
  • Propose and perform Project Quality and External Provider Audit Programme, support external audits on project, and report on execution.
  • Propose Project Quality Report.
  • Develop suitable quality KPIs.
  • Provide training sessions with reference to Project Quality System (including updates) or help coordinate process-specific training.
  • Interface, in coordination with Project Manager and other relevant Project Team members, with customers, partners, external providers and third parties with reference to quality assurance aspects.
  • Escalate and manage quality issues in processes, products and systems installed and/or delivered to customers concerning the project.

Resource Management

  • Ensure development of competencies, skills and knowledge of the resources are in alignment with Group HR strategy, guidelines and policies.
  • Ensure workload analysis and resource allocation to specific activities are in alignment with Group priorities.
  • Ensure implementation of Global Hitachi Rail Group culture and development of behaviors/competences are in line with Hitachi values and a collaborative approach.
  • Ensure assignment of targets to assigned resources are in line with Hitachi Rail Group goals.
  • Ensure definition and implementation of competence development plans, and capitalization of know-how/best practices.

Key shared accountabilities

  • Contribute to measure of customer satisfaction by interfacing clients on specific project as necessary.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 3 to 5 years of RAIL experience
  • Good knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
  • Good auditing skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across culturally and geographically diverse teams
