General Information:

The Capacitors and Filters product group is looking for an experienced mechanical designer to join their team. We are looking for someone with interpersonal skills, good teamwork skills, and the ability to focus on complex concepts while working under pressure.

Responsibilities:

The mechanical designer will support a well-established team and work on 2D and 3D development products. Our products are customized to the customer's requirements and are unique, including multiple components that must be part of the overall design.

  • Design MV and HV Capacitor banks per customer and applicable industry standards, using 2D and 3D CAD software, designing typically includes but is not limited to: Conceptual design, BOM generation, manufacturing & assembly drawing package generation.

  • Demonstrate knowledge in advanced high-end CAD software Creo.

  • Exposure to Product data management (PDM) / Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool Windchill.

  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), Design for Assembly and Manufacturing.

  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques and procedures while preparing manufacturing & assembly drawings.

  • As a part of the job, shall effectively interact and coordinate with Product owners, Supply Chain Suppliers & Engineering teams located globally.

Qualifications:

  • College diploma in mechanical engineering, design option, electrical engineering - automation and control, AEC in computer-aided design.

  • Drafting & Detailing (2D and 3D) experience is a must.

  • Experience in handling projects in PLM/PDM systems is an asset.

  • Mastery of Autocad

  • Mastery of PTC Creo

  • Working knowledge in T&D industry standards or similar (IEEE, ANSI, CSA, NEC, ASME, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Solidworks is an asset.

  • Knowledge of English (reading, writing, speaking)

  • Knowledge of French (reading, writing, speaking) is an asset.

  • Ability to use IT tools, particularly Microsoft Office Suite

  • Team spirit

  • Creativity, attention to detail

  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset.

  • Experience in medium voltage electrical equipment and cubicles is an asset.
