Senior Cloud Solution Architect

Hitachi Vantara is seeking a Senior Cloud Solution Architect to join our cloud solution team. We are working to change the way the company and our product interface with the cloud. The candidate will primarily focus on designing and maintaining automated and semi-automated systems and processes to help build foundational elements of our cloud integration products. The ideal candidate will also spend time building automation around our core products to facilitate this end. The ideal candidate will have direct experience building and maintaining complex and diverse cloud topologies in production environments at scale. The candidate should be sharp with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to this rapidly evolving technology area.

Key job functions include
• Design and execute project plans
• Oversee the external contractors and help interface with partners
• Create reusable code templates
• Participate in API definition and development
• Create POC cloud architectures and help mature them into production systems
• Help drive the engineering side of the GTM process
• Gather and refine requirements
• Participate in meetings with global development teams
• Perform basic server administration and setup when needed

Key skills include
• Ability to work independently, finding solutions to complex problems with minimal oversight
• Experience working with global teams
• Ability to provide technical requirements to the team
• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Qualifications
• 9+ years of software-related work experience
• Expert level proficiency in AWS
• Working knowledge of GCP and Azure
• Experience working in the storage industry
• Experience coding (in Python, Perl, Java, etc.)
• Direct experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, etc.)
• Experienced in working with RESTful web services
• Exposure to container technologies (Docker, K8s, etc.)
• Experience building cloud-native applications
• Deployment and operation of cloud solutions in production environments at scale
• Ability to work within agile teams

Not required but a strong plus
• Experience with Python is a plus
• Prior work with web development experience
• Experience with disaster recovery
• Experience with Cloud Management Platforms
• Networking expertise
