General Information:

Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced, outgoing, strategic connector to join our team in the Raleigh area as a Community Relations Manager. This role is focused on supporting the growth of our company through the cultivation of community partnerships, consumer and employer brand awareness, and internal employee engagement. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape how we connect with and support our community in the Raleigh area. Externally, you will be representing Hitachi Energy by being involved with membership organizations, attending conferences, networking events, campus career fairs and more. Internally, you will be engaging our current employees through events and workshops to boost collaboration and improve team member retention.

Mission Statement:

The right candidate will have proven success in networking, public speaking, social media management and brand building in a previous role. They will have a proactive, confident attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently. They must also have the flexibility to travel locally in the Raleigh area.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Establish and foster relationships with local universities, key community organizations (e.g. Chamber of Commerce and other peer companies) and individuals such as community and university leaders.

  • Act as an ambassador for Hitachi Energy focused on building relationships and sharing our company’s vision with the community, with a focus on driving our diversity, equity and inclusion ambitions and strategy.

  • Develop a strategy to build and maintain programs and activities that will have a positive impact on the community, including volunteer efforts and strategic donations.

  • Organize community outreach programs and coordinate special events that promote products, services, or ideas of the company.

  • Identify opportunities to maximize brand exposure in order to generate additional business and recruit and retain top talent.

  • Identify and attend networking events and conferences to drive awareness and make new contacts.

  • Represent Hitachi Energy in local membership organizations.

  • Partner with Employer Branding and Talent Acquisition teams to build strong university relations.

  • Utilize social media to showcase our dedication to the community and connect with community partners digitally.

  • Engage with current Hitachi Energy employees in Raleigh through events and in-office activations to drive team member engagement and collaboration.  Be a leader and partner with the management team in efforts to create an environment where employees want to come to the office.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on the Employer Brand, Communications and Marketing teams to align with and support their strategies.  Build community and drive strategy with site Community Relations Managers.

Your Background:

  • 8+ years of professional experience including employee relations and working to influence and partner with senior leadership.

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

  • 5+ years of experience building and developing community partnerships.

  • 3+ years of experience with social media management and content creation

  • Passionate about relationship-building and proven ability to make strategic connections.

  • Extensive knowledge of the local area

  • Outstanding verbal and written skills, including presenting information to different audiences to drive outcomes.

  • Experience in handling multiple concurrent projects and timelines/deliverables

  • A deep commitment to and passion for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to a changing work environment and schedule, including weekly evening and weekend meetings and events.

  • Role has some flexibility for some work from home but must be based in the Raleigh office at least three days per week
