The Role The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting with the financial accounting, financial planning, reporting and analysis of the Australia and New Zealand business. In addition, this role will provide financial support to various business partners including respective functional leadership in the ANZ region.
Responsibilities Reporting, Forecasting & Analysis:
- Month end close activities which includes reviewing cost centres and spend trends to ensure all costs are accurately accounted for on a monthly basis
- Assisting with the input of the profit and loss forecast into Hyperion
- Provide reporting on spend items as required, which includes communications and travel expenses
- Assist with the preparation of monthly reporting package to APAC Headquarters; includes forecast P&L, forecast Spend, and analysis of actual results against forecast
- Assist the ANZ business with T&E queries, expense coding, corporate card queries and act as a liaison between SSC and the ANZ business
- Assist in developing and enhancing reporting formats, excel financial models, and presentation of data to the business.
- Assistance with the preparation of special reports or presentations by ANZ management on specific business initiatives or projects
- Assist the Finance Team as required as well as perform ad hoc duties as requested
Financial Accounting & Reporting - Assist with the preparation of FBT returns for both Australia and New Zealand
- Assist with the preparation of Annual Income Tax Return for Australia and New Zealand
- Assist with the preparation and lodgement of GST returns for Australia and New Zealand
- Liaising with external auditors and advisors on the preparation of Annual Statutory accounts for both Australia and New Zealand legal entities
- Provide support to the Finance Shared Service Centre on coding and accounting queries as appropriate
- Provide support to the Finance Shared Service Centre and the ANZ business on fixed asset coding
- Assisting payroll with accounting journals, reconciliations, payroll taxes and commission/bonus reporting
- Australian Bureau of Statistics Surveys and other financial surveys as required
Provide support to the Senior Financial Analyst and Finance Director as required; assist with ad hoc duties as requested
Profile: - Bachelor level degree (accounting / finance)
- Preferably qualified CPA/CA (or close to qualification)
- 3-4 years experience post degree qualification
- Hands on financial analysis and modelling skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Hyperion Essbase preferred
- Oracle Financials
- Proven customer service skills
- Self-starter; ability to solve problems and work independently
