General Information:

Production Planning encompasses the planning of the processes required to efficiently produce company products and to ensure the availability of support services. Follow specific instructions to perform activities for the Operations organization and provide assistance to coordinators.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties associated with various operations’ functions. Assist with more complex activities, monitor progress and quality, and obtain assistance from supervisor or coordinators regarding resolution of problems.
  • Follow specific instructions to compile, prepare and report data and information. Analyze nature and scope of routine problems and resolve or provide information for resolution.  Maintain detailed records and logs.
  • Utilize computer programs for various administrative and office procedural purposes. Perform calculations, conduct basic analyses and provide related data and information.   Be able to use Excel, Word and PowerPoint proficiently. 
  • Utilization of the capacity planning tools to develop project timelines.  Interface with SAP and other systems to identify material requirement dates.   
  • Participate in, or assist coordinators involved in a variety of operation's functions in order to gain experience and a better understanding of the group's responsibilities and functions.
  • Evaluate equipment utilization, workflows and order requirements to establish a project plan from design to shipment to the customer.  Maintain and develop work flows for existing and new products
  • Correspond with customers and establish inspection points and dates for customer visits. 
  • Attend meetings to plan and follow customer projects.  Observe and identify potential issues that could inhibit the progress of projects.    Effectively communicate potential problems to other departments.
  • Complexity of Tasks: Assignments require knowledge of operation's functions, general understanding of the group's activities and ability to communicate effectively.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business or related field and up to 2 years of experience, or alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
