Project Engineer (PLC Control&Automation)

Description

We are looking for Project Engineer who will join our Grid Automation Business Unit located in Genova, Italy. In this role you will drive the control automation project engineering reporting to the Engineering Manager.

Your Responsibilities:

- Understand project requirements and translate those to functional diagrams;

- Design, develop and tests the control automation software as per functional description;

- Execution of the activities coordinating with the project team;

- Support the commissioning of projects;

 - Proactively seek and implement improvements in the execution process;

- Living values of safety and integrity;

- Be part of a team and act as a team player;

- Support of bid & proposal team.

Requirements:

- Degree in engineering or technical diploma;

- Excellent knowledge of IEC 61131-3 standard PLC Programming Languages includes Ladder Diagram, Functional Block and Structured Text;

- Good knowledge of control loop concepts is required;

- Good knowledge of industrial protocols as IEC60870-5-104 and Modbus (RTU/TCP) is required;

- Knowledge of OPC and IEC61850 is considered as a plus;

- Good knowledge of protocol simulators and TCP/UDP sniffing tools is appreciated;

- Knowledge of Microgrid systems, battery storage, renewable generation is considered as a plus;

- Knowledge of applications such as peak lopping, islanding, synchronizing, black-start, frequency and voltage regulation, PF are considered as a plus;

- Good knowledge of MS Office tools;

- Fluency in both spoken & written English is required;

- Fluency in both spoken & written Italian is a plus;

- Flexibility to travel worldwide and to be available to perform commissioning activities are required.
