General Information:

As the Lead Technical Specialist Intern, you will be joining a fast paced, energetic environment as part of the Stoney Creek team.  In this role, you will have an opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals within the field of Transformer repair. You will gain exposure supporting the Lead Technical Specialists, Planner / VCP Coordinator and assist the greater organization in achieving its annual goals and objectives as an active participant.

Internship duration: 15 - 16 months, starting October, 2023

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Production Planning & VCP Projects and Lead Technical Specialist Activities

  • Embrace, utilize and promote the Lean Six-Sigma process

  • Creating an array of templates / drawings for various ancillary equipment devices

  • Hands-on data collection for various jobs on the shop 

  • Assist in developing job binders & documentation packages for the jobs 

  • Assist in developing / implementing process and equipment upgrade(s)

  • Assist in ensuring that the jobs are delivered on time to the Customer Delivery Schedule

  • Work closely with purchasing for material parts planning and delivery

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering – 3rd Year Complete

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

  • Demonstrated self-starter with effective planning, organization, and prioritization skills

  • Proficient with computer and software-MS Office, AutoCAD & Microsoft Project

  • Ability to work independently within a dynamic work environment

  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills are required

  • Excellent time management skills and strong analytical abilities

  • Organized and results oriented
