The role has high visibility and is positioned at a lively interface between Region/Product Line and the European Power Transformer factories and may also include direct discussions/negotiations with important customers. You are responsible for supporting the provision of contract management services to the Local Business Unit (factory)/Product Line or Country, ensuring all contract management activities are executed in accordance with Group/Division/Business Unit directives and instructions including company procedures and the Contract Management framework. The role communicates and presents at different organizational levels up to the Business Unit. You will be ensuring contract and risk management activities are timely and accurately executed protecting HE’s interests throughout project(s) lifecycle.

This is a hybrid position. Candidate should be within proximity to one of the European Transformer

Factory locations. Vaasa, Finland; Ludvika, Sweden; Bad Honnef, Germany; Cordoba, Spain; Lodz, Poland.

Your responsibilities:

• You support the provision of Contract Management services for all product lines/functions of the European Transformer organization
• You ensure the portfolio of contracts in the business, following contract and claim management methodologies in accordance with internal standard and procedures
• You review, comment and recommend on both commercial and technical terms and conditions – especially in case of disputes and being pressed for time.
• You support with Contract Management continuous improvement programs (e.g. by coaching/supporting of PMO and Sales teams).
• You analyze contract terms to highlight areas of potential opportunity and risk, such as ambiguities, omissions and conflicts; developing and implementing risk mitigation and opportunity planning in concert with PMO-/Sales-/PL-/Region-manager
• You perform the overall analysis of incoming claims (Customers, Suppliers/Subcontractors and Consortium Partners), development of defense strategies, preparing response/correspondences, counter-claims, and related
• You support the PMO-/Sales-/PL-/Region-manager in the negotiation of disputes with customers/third parties, seeking advice from legal if necessary
• You provide general advice and pro-actively supporting in the execution of Customer Contracts, Consortium Agreements, Subcontracts/Supply contracts to secure Hitachi Energy’s contractual rights and entitlements.

Your background:

• Degree in engineering or law with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in contract management preferably within the energy sector.
• Positive, proactive and open-minded attitude.
• Experience in negotiating contracts.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken). Second European language is a plus.
• Ability to create and communicate/present precise contract analyses, even under time pressure.
