Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Commissioning Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Perth, Australia.

About the Position

The Commissioning Engineer carries out testing of on-board and OC equipment. Working collaboratively with the wider team this role covers all aspects of the preparation and execution of test campaigns and systems commissioning.

Accountabilities:

• Performing System End-to-End testing.

• Performing Integration testing of subsystems.

• Performing test runs on heavy haul freight trains.

• Performing software updates of on-board equipment.

• Attending project progress meetings as and when required.

• Preparing progress reports for appropriate activities.

• Ensuring all activities undertaken comply with applicable H&S laws, policies, and procedures.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

• Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering or IT University Degree or equivalent.

• Up to 3 years of expertise in tests on site or on platform.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Well organised and able to multi-task.

• Resourceful, flexible, and self-motivated.
