Seize this hybrid opportunity as an Industry Solution Executive for Transmission and Distribution Utilities. This is a key role within our European Customer Success team.

Having worked within an asset management organisation of transmission and distribution utilities, you will be viewed as a trusted industry expert in the team helping with opportunity discovery solution architecture, proposal definition, and product demonstration. You will liaise with customer decision makers to understand their requirements, determine the most appropriate and cost-effective

solutions, and convey the value and tangible benefits to them.

You will engage with the sales representative early in the sales cycle on discovery calls and help to qualify opportunities, support the proposal process, and deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations.

You’ll provide a deep level of operational and process expertise in Utilities Asset Management. Plus prepare and deliver compelling presentations related to Hitachi Energy Asset and Works Management software solutions for both internal and external audiences.  This will include both standard presentation material and a significant amount of new or modified material generated for specific customer or internal situations.

About the Role

  • Works under minimal supervision to prepare for customer discovery and solution demonstrations, typically collaborating with Sales and Product Managers to ensure customer requirements are fully met.  Explains the outcomes and value of the products in customer terminology.
  • As a credible, trusted expert to the customer draws support from as well as provides feedback to Product Management regarding new features, capabilities, or customer/industry requirements.
  • Represents Hitachi Energy at conferences and events and achieves an early engagement with potential customers.
  • Develops a solution positioning (value, differentiators etc.) in response to customer needs and can evaluate trade-offs between level of compliance and cost/value.
  • Supports the proposal response function by providing initial review and comments to qualify the opportunity and if accepted, supports as a key resource the response preparation by directly answering the tender questions and collaborating with others on the response team to ensure we  exceed customer’s expectations.


  • 10 – 20 years plus in a senior role in utilities asset management for transmission and distribution ideally or electric utilities/gas/water/generation 
  • Abroad understanding of Asset Management in other industries/ Preferably to have implemented/ project managed Enterprise Asset Management
  • Both management and field operational experience within our industry
  • Influential to drive the industries that our customers serve and build relationships in an advisory capacity.
  • Credible communicator fluent in both spoken and written English and a confident presenter in front of audiences. Ideally comfortable communicating in the role in one other European language
  • Flexible to travel to customer sites in other countries.
  • A solution focused entrepreneur who considers the wider picture
  • Solution focused and forward thinking able to propose solutions, being sensitive to who may be impacted by change/modifications.
  • Has a full understanding of the market and strategically keeps ahead of market changes.
