Product Compliance Specialist

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Product Compliance Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Pittsburgh, PA (U.S).

Accountabilities

We are looking for an Product Compliance Specialist who will:

• Prepare the dossiers related to fire smoke regulations NFPA130;

• Be in charge of the Compliance Analysis in accordance with the regulations that control hazardous substances in electrical/electronic equipment and lifecycle assessment;

• Prepare dossiers relating to the regulation for the control of exports, brokering, technical assistance, transit and transfer of dual-use items (EAR - Export Administration regulation); 

• Develop innovative methodologies to be applied as standards in the design process of products and solutions;

Required Skills/Knowledge

• Good knowledge about NFPA130 - Standard for Fixed Guideway Transit and Passenger Rail Systems;

• Basic knowledge with management and understanding of info related to electrical/electronic/mechanical components;

• Able to work autonomously and be proactive in the management of the tasks

• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;

• Willing to work in an international team and environment;

• Excellent communication skills;

Education

• University Degree in Industrial Engineering (preferable), Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or equivalent technical/scientific background;

Languages
Basic knowledge of French of Italian welcome
