Telecommunications & Cybersecurity Commissioning Manager

We are currently seeking a Senior Commissioning Manager to manage the testing and commissioning activities of Telecommunications and Control Systems sub-systems, on a multi-disciplined railway system project.  This will include the coordination of testing activities in the wider integration of the railway systems, in accordance with the contract schedule and the budget. This is permanent full time role based in our Brisbane office.

The accountabilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Principal Commissioning Manager in defining the execution of the Telecommunications & Cybersecurity commissioning activities (sequence of activities, optimisation of the use of resources) in alignment with contract requirements, budget and company guidelines;
  • Ensure that the Telecommunications & Cybersecurity test and commissioning activities are executed in alignment with the Work, Health and Safety requirements of the company and the project
  • Ensuring alignment with project Budget proposal;
  • Overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of Telecommunications & Cybersecurity Test Procedures, in collaboration with the Engineering department;
  • Ensuring the planning and execution of the Testing and Commissioning activities integrate effectively at the project level;
  • Assure the correct allocation of skilled resources to the commissioning activities in accordance with the approved project schedule;
  • Ensuring the timely production of Test Reports at the project level;
  • Accountable for the site interface management of the associated Telecommunications & Cybersecurity sub-systems, with the Client/Engineer/Third parties during the test and commissioning phase
  • Ensuring an efficient hand hover of the associated systems from commissioning to maintenance team
  • Supporting the Functional Manager in the evaluation of the performance of assigned resources and identifying training needs
  • Represent STS at meetings with Transit Authorities
  • Provide support during preparation of bid and proposal data on potential projects
  • Any and all other Telecoms & Cybersecurity related works as directed by the project in order to support those projects needs

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or similar field;
  • Knowledgeable in Radio Communications, Networking and Cybersecurity
  • 5-10 years' experience in a similar role in the Rail Signalling or Telecommunications industry with demonstrated capability and skills in:
    • Mobile communications (e.g. Radio, GSM, LTE, WiFi)
    • IP/Data Network communications (e.g. CCNA/CCNP)
    • Fibre Optic and Copper-based Transmission Systems
    • Budgeting and cost estimation
    • Railway equipment and environment
    • Use of Test tools
    • Use of Database tools
    • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
    • Incident/accident investigation
    • Knowledge of ERP and Configuration Management tools
    • Knowledge of tendering process
  • The candidate also needs to be willing to travel as required by the project.
