Meet our Team

The Database Management team supports numerous Oracle, Oracle-EBS, and SQL Server databases that run business-critical applications for Hitachi Vantara. This role will be in the Database Management team providing administration, support, and maintenance of Oracle Applications and Oracle Databases.

What you'll be doing

• Install, configure, administer, and manage Oracle Databases (19c) and Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2.x

• Perform system administration duties in Oracle EBS related to user management, request groups, printers, custom applications, forms, reports, etc.

• Manage, monitor, and configure workflows.

• Database Cloning/refresh activities (Prod to Dev, QA).

• Perform instance upgrade, migration, and patching.

• Perform backup and recovery.

• Proactively analyze the performance and provide tuning recommendations.

• Perform OS-level activities related to database tasks and Linux administration.

• Support production and non-prod database environments.

• Debug and resolve incidents and provide RCA.

• Provide on-call support for critical application databases.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What you bring to the team

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

• 5-10 years of relevant professional experience.

• Expertise in AD utilities.

• Expertise in cloning and patching applications and databases.

• Expertise working with concurrent managers.

• Proficiency with backing up and cleaning up various log files.

• Expertise in sysadmin activities like user administration responsibilities, request groups, register forms, printer setup, register custom applications, etc.

• Expertise in providing production support.

• Expertise in managing, monitoring, and configuring workflows.

• Expertise in backup and recovery.

• Expertise in RMAN, hot and cold backups.

• Expertise in monitoring databases using OEM and custom scripts.

• Expertise in database lock, space management, export and import of the database, performance tuning at DB and apps Level.

• Expertise in Managing Linux OS systems with a good understanding of Kernel.

• Must have good troubleshooting skills.

• Experience in Shell Scripting

• Experience in Ansible/Python

• Experience in PLSQL.

• Additional skills like SSO, OID, OBIEE, WebLogic, SQL server, SOA, Agile, Hyperion, etc. are an added advantage.

• Preferable Automation Experience for regular activities

• Experience working on at least one public cloud - Oracle/AWS/Azure/Google is desirable.

• Exposure to supporting Java-based applications.

• Should have good knowledge of CDB/PDB concepts.

• Able to adapt to new technologies.
