Description

General Responsibilities:

Lead design/testing actives according to customers’ requirements by contributing to customer’s projects and additional local engineering teams.

Job Responsibilities:

The main duties and responsibilities include the following: 

  • Engineering Management:
    • Manage capacity planning and headcount for necessary resources in Engineering for the Global Customer Line Teams,
    • Plan budget (AOP) and supervise cost center,
    • Lead  third-party engineering service providers.
  • Engineering Expertise:
    • Ensure an Engineering expert role in front of the customer, hold product expertise, application of standards, training and coaching of staff,
    • Ensuring the application of standards and guidelines within projects,
    • Technical expert in Brakes, and also in Systems and Actuation products,
    • Support Customer Chief Engineers, Evaluating and precise specific customer requests
  • Participation in Customer Projects:
    • Support Customer Line Organization (CLO) Team sizing,
    • Contribute to project cost planning,
    • Individual support to CLO teams and task force.
  • Knowledge Management:
    • Constantly equip himself with the latest product technologies and solutions,
    • Lead/mentor engineers,
    • support team regarding design and product competencies.
  • Team Management:
    • Foster a climate of teamwork and motivation within the team by encouraging an entrepreneurship mindset, professional development, and growth of employees (assessment, training, coaching, and mentoring).
    • Ensure the deployment of the company communication to the team,
    • Ensure an appropriate work environment for the team.

Qualifications:

The Ideal candidate will:

  • Key Competencies: Overall and deep product (brakes, actuation) and system knowledge, Deep automotive, market & customer knowledge, Mechanic & Mechatronic knowledge (system-software),  Good overview of development and validation process,  Team management ability,  Technical negotiation skills,  Automotive norms knowledge.
  • Professional and technical knowledge: Office Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, etc. SAP, Fluent English language.
  • Behaviors: Critical Thinking, Result oriented, Leadership, Teamwork, Business acumen, Ownership & Accountability
  • Skills: Coordination of multidisciplinary teams, Strategy Understanding & Roll-out, and Managerial Courage

Additionally, the ability to work independently with minimal direction is required as are strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with PCs and application software, such as MS Office tools is also required.

Education: Bachelor/Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.

Experience: 15+ years of experience in engineering.  Automotive experience preferred

Supervisory Responsibilities:  N/A 

Working conditions:

  • Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel: Domestic and international may be required as needed. The candidate will occasionally need to travel to multiple global locations to support project development.
