Summary of the position:

The Consolidations Accountant works within the global finance team to consolidate, analyze, and  report financial information using analytical processes to forecast and budget consolidated financial information.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Consolidation and analysis of financial statements each month, including:
    • Receiving and loading trial balances to consolidation system
    • Analyzing consolidation to ensure accuracy
    • Posting top level consolidating journal entries
  • Support the cost accounting and capital spending processes on a (US) local and (global) consolidated basis
  • Areas of focus include reporting of financial, supplemental, and operational data; analysis of results and forecasts; systems consolidation; supporting operational initiatives; and implementing process improvements
  • Analyze price, volume, mix, foreign exchange rate, and cost drivers
  • Work with the management team to monitor actual spending versus the monthly forecast and annual budget
  • Develop, maintain and improve reporting of key metrics and financial reports for the management team
  • Support internal audit, external audit and other outside reviews
  • Lead and/or support special projects as needed

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting
  • CPA preferred

Professional experience:

  • 5-7 years total relevant experience; manufacturing experience preferred
  • 2-5 years international business experience; global consolidations experience preferred
  • 1-3 years of public accounting experience preferred
  • Ability to identify weaknesses or gaps in processes and develop, implement and monitor solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and deliverables
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and have the ability to build and utilize complex models
  • SAP experience a plus
  • OneStream and/or Hyperion experience a plus
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural setting, ability to speak a foreign language, and/or work with foreign currencies a plus
  • Successful candidate must be able to effectively communicate up, down and across all levels of the organization
  • Successful candidate must be able to respond to a fast paced, results oriented, rapidly changing environment
