As the Country Communications Manager for Hitachi Energy in Switzerland, your mission is to provide strategic guidance for the company’s internal and external communications programs, in line with Global Business Communications strategy, corporate identity and brand positioning in the country. You will ensure executional excellence in all communications measures in the Swiss market, and you will be part of the European and DACH communications team in Hitachi Energy. You will be working closely with the Country Managing Director for Switzerland and Headquarters organization.
As country communications manager, you are responsible for all communications activities in the local market in close cooperation with the country managing director and aligned with regional and global business and communication priorities. This entails planning, implementation, and follow-up of all communication activities, both internal and external, and to all relevant target groups. It is a broad area of responsibility that includes both brand positioning, employee engagement, content marketing and media relations in the country. You have a coordinating responsibility for the activities in terms of planning, production, and execution in accordance with the communication plan and country needs. You are responsible to propose and follow-up measurements of comms activities.
Strategy: Define and lead execution of the communication strategy for the local markets, based on the overall business and market strategy; regularly measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the communication strategy (outcomes and activities) against agreed objectives and KPIs; ensure relevant communication plans align with global business strategies and guidelines.
Content Management, Internal and Digital Communications: Develop and manage the business internal and external communications in alignment with business themes and country priorities. Manage the application of the brand per Group guidelines and ensure the consistent application of visual branding and business messages in all communications and support the local business leadership team with executive communications.
Media Relations & Events: provide management guidance and develop business messages for key events such as industry conferences, tradeshows, and employee meetings in line with corporate branding strategy and in collaboration with global Marketing & Sales or Government and Institutional Relations. Develop and manage relationships with media to ensure targeted media coverage delivered through relationships, pitching and media releases.
Specific tasks:
Editorial, including writing and editing of media releases, both general and technical ones; speeches, position papers.
Ensure strategic communications planning, seize opportunities and lead through challenging times
Ensure consistent content creation and messaging
Facilitate brand awareness, brand consistency and implementation
Ensure stakeholder engagement through digital channels, including social media planning and execution
Ensure employee engagement
Support with local management
Building and maintaining target media relationships and coach spokespeople
Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Marketing or other relevant related discipline.
Experience with the energy sector, industry, technology.
Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in media and content interactions with an interest in technology and innovation
Proven track record of cross functional communication skills (media, investors, branding, editorial, web, internal, story-telling etc.)
Understanding of all relevant media and communication channels, including digital communications channels and the power of social media
Proven experience to analyze and develop relevant metrics in dealing with different stakeholders
Ability to navigate a fast-paced, heavily matrixed organization.
Experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
International experience and exceptional writing/editing and oral communication skills in English, German, French and/or Italian
Strong networking ability and multi-cultural credentials
