Mission statement:

Provides the local Sales organization/customers’ application and product pre-sales support through Homologation preparation, determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions in preparation of technical descriptions of the applied products and technology to support the proposal process. Serves as a key technical resource in the assigned area for APAC region.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will promote technically Automation & Communication portfolio (IEDs, RTUs, Wireless and SCADA) and participates to their commercial development for electrical Distribution networks, contribute to product specifications, application and testing requirements for commercial acceptance.

  • You will perform analytic and diagnostic studies to determine most suitable technical solution to meet customer needs in the segment of Distribution Automation (<150kV) Leads Homologations / certifications / Proof of Concepts, propose technical solutions for complex enquiries.

  • You will offer technical advice and provide comments on enquiry specifications for customers/channels/Sales Engineers with regards to Hitachi Energy products/systems/ applications IEDs, RTUs, Wireless and SCADA portfolio and provide technical leadership and support during the technical meeting, product presentations and negotiations.

  • You will ensure most competitive design taking into account the market situation and customer’s conditions, identify which approach (e.g. direct sales, consortium, or channel) can be applied to better serve the customer, support bid/no bid analyses and decisions, participate in project risk review processes.

  • You will have direct relations with customers, Channel partners, Distributors, Potential Third-Party suppliers externally and support Sales organizations during the technical meetings, product presentations and negotiations Internally. You will ensure technical links with mother factories and global Product managers and offers product/solution/service-related trainings, perform trainings internally and externally on promoted products and applications.

  • You will lead, drive and hold itself accountable for the highest standards of health, safety and environment to ensure Zero Harm is achieved, responsible for compliance with relevant HSE policy and procedures, ensuring proactive risk assessments take place and corrective actions monitored/followed up.

Your background:

  • University degree in Engineering/Trade qualifications in Electrical or equivalent.

  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in specific product and software RTUs, Wireless and SCADA; especially in Distribution System Operators markets and Industries.

  • Strong knowledge in power systems, software, integration and automation, industrial controls, PLCs, industry protocols such as (IEC-61850, DNP, 60870-5, Modbus), Ethernet systems, protocol analyzers, and industry SCADA practices.

  • Advanced computer skills across MS Office, MS Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Salesforce.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, high attention to detail.
