Description

Summary of the position:

Fabrication of high-quality metal components, responsible for reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, fabricating metal components or structures, and performing quality checks on finished products.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Responsible for screwed pipefitting
  • Bends and fits Stainless Steel tubing from ¼”- 1”.
  • Hydrostatic testing of welded piping.
  • Assembly of finished welded piping and components.
  • Sheeting and insulating of all units that require buildings.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates Degree a plus.

Professional experience:

  • Two or more years’ experience fabricating on oilfield related equipment (or similar type equipment).

  • Knowledge is required in the following areas: assembly, parts, quality control, and safety.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.  
  • Must be able to read, evaluate, and respond to product specifications and drawing, and perform normal math calculations easily.
  • Must be familiar and comfortable with various machinery. 
  • Must have strong general mechanical skills. 
  • Ability to produce quality work and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to safely use tools and equipment to test and repair assigned equipment.
  • Ability to work well with others.

Physical Qualifications

  • Must be able to walk and stand throughout an eight-to-twelve-hour day. 
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 80 pounds from a table position to chest high using a proper lifting technique. 
  • Must be able to occasionally climb a ladder to reach areas to be worked on. 
  • Must be able to repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers in the manipulation of parts.
  • Must demonstrate good hand/eye coordination. 
  • Must demonstrate good manual dexterity. 
  • Fabricators work with various materials and are exposed to hazardous fumes, noises, vibrations, atmospheric conditions, oils, or other fluids.
