Commercial Tender Executive – Hub Europe
As Commercial Tender Executive, you will be the overall tender leader for high risk and large tenders with the main focus on the expanding renewable segment and offshore wind projects as well as general complex opportunities in AC Business. The focused tenders of high complexity are typically characterized by:
Responsibilities
Ensure that the sales strategy for the opportunity is translated into the tendering plan and set-up
Plan, organize and structure the tendering activities to ensure on-time delivery while meeting highest quality standards.
Organize and lead the tender team assigned to the opportunity including necessary supporting functions.
Ensures necessary support and alignment of internal and external partners/suppliers and the operations as required to ensure a successful project execution if the tender is won.
Leading or supporting risk reviews and ensuring internal approvals in close collaboration with sales responsible (opportunity owner)
Reports progress and escalate matters to the management stakeholders as required.
Participation in customer workshops or tender presentation meetings, often on site
Participation in capture teams and tender alignment with other BUs when applicable
Support sales in contract negotiations if required.
Background and Profile
Professional experience
Senior professional with > 5 years' experience in a relevant industry and role
Previous leadership experience with leading teams, e.g. as a line manager, project manager or leading complex tenders or sales pursuits.
Previous work experience within sales, tendering, contract management or project management.
Personality, soft skills
Strong leadership skills, ability to manage and structure complex tasks while managing ambiguity.
Ability to lead virtual teams and deliver results in a functional/project organization without direct reports.
Structured, well-organized and diligent.
Ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Education and skills
Higher education (e.g., bachelor's or master's degree) in engineering and/or business management or alike.
Good understanding of substation automation and communication networks and basic know-how about grid automation in general.
Excellent understanding of tendering and commercial processes
Very good understanding of managing projects and/or planning complex activities
Excellent command of English is mandatory, additional European language skills are a plus
Excellent understanding of legal and commercial aspects of a contract, Incoterms, terms and conditions, risk management, cash-flows and cost management.
