Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Associate Asset Management Engineering Analyst who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Job Description

The Associate Asset Management Analyst is responsible for providing technical expertise and knowledge on a variety of asset management development matters related to Hitachi Rail’s projects to support both the external end customer and internal cross functional departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the enterprise asset management databases to enable the development, procurement, monitoring and review of asset information. As well, the individual will also oversee the planning and scheduling of resources required to deliver the maintenance services including parts, labour, and the input of the specialist service delivery partners and audit all services to ensure that workmanship is of the highest standards. Day-to-day, the role will be delivering technical solutions for stakeholders across the business and will be the expert providing technical guidance to the maintenance team and management. The position requires an enthusiastic self-motivated, self-directed individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Act as a primary point of contact within the Maintenance Organization for matters pertaining to transit system.
  • Follows up on any technical trouble related to Transit and Facility Systems that could arise during revenue service.
  • Ensure the reviews of recommendations for tests and control procedures
  • Ensure the preparation and presentation of accurate engineering reports on transit system.
  • Ensure the execution of the Configuration management processes for all asset configuration changes, within the relevant asset type.
  • Administrates the Asset or Maintenance Management System.
  • Ensure the execution of technical analyses concerning maintenance and LCC optimisation.
  • Schedules all subsystems for periodic inspections, modifications and maintenance related activities.
  • Review and contribute to product documents, service manuals, notices to ensure proper technical content.
  • Creates, maintains, and delivers technical material including presentations, engineering notes, application bulletins, user guides, and demonstration media on products and solutions.
  • Establish and maintain positive customer relationships.

Required Qualifications/ Skills/ Knowledge/ Competencies

  • Professional Engineer licence or Engineer-in-Training designation preferred.
  • Experience in an engineering/technical role, railway or facility maintenance industries preferred.
  • Ability to analyze application software error/information logs to advise solutions.
  • Ability to work in a team and be a contributor to the operations, service and maintenance group. This team works closely together and shares each one’s expertise to further other members’ breadth and competencies.
  • Excellent presentation, written, verbal, and collaborative communication skills.
  • Commitment and willingness to strive toward achieving goals and business objectives.
  • Acts with a sense of urgency to meet contractual obligations and customer’s needs.
  • Thrives with little daily supervision; obtains objective and plots course on own.
  • Must be Self-motivated and self-directed to meet the company's objectives.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, self-manage priorities and work independently as well as part of a team to meet objectives as needed.
  • Ability to present oneself as well as the company in a positive and professional manner as the forward facing technical expert in a diverse array of customer settings.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Criminal background check required.

Working Conditions

  • Must be located within reasonable commuting distance of Toronto project office. 
  • Work in office and on-site as required.

Education

  • BS degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical/Mechanical/Computer/Civil Engineering preferred) or applicable professional experience may be considered.
