F&A Assistant Controller

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the accounting operations of the company, including periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results and ensure the reported results comply with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and/or generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP).

Job Responsibilities: 

• Establishes, or recommends to management, major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for the company.
• Prepares reports to summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
• Prepare specific reports for different Business Units and Stakeholders.
• Perform variance analysis of budgets vs. actuals and forecasts, monthly.
• Determining and analyzing variable costs (e.g., direct labor, materials costs, utilities).
• Determining and analyzing fixed costs (e.g., salaries, rent, and insurance).
• Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
• Provides management with timely reviews of organization’s financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
• Calculate and update Standard Cost and standard cost roll-up as part of the annual budgeting process
• Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
• Performs other accounting duties as requested by the Accounting Sr. Manager
• Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.
• Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
• Arranges for audits of company’s accounts and interfaces with outside firms as necessary.
• Provides oversite to the physical inventory processes.
• Wears all required PPE and follow all Safety Procedures; supports and participates in 6S activities.
• Adhere to ASI's Safety Policy and practices and report any potential unsafe condition or concern to the Safety department immediately and/or to your direct supervisor.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Ensure proper safety practices are in place and enforced.
• Assist with implementation of new safety practices.
• Recognize unsafe conditions and implement corrective action where needed.
• Responsible for leadership and skill development of your direct reports including identification of training needs, approval of training classes and follow-up after training to determine effectiveness (observed behavior changes, evidence of skills learned an implemented).

Education and/or Experience:

• BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting

Background/Skills: 

• To perform with job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• 3+ years of Financial and Managerial accounting experience.
• 2+ years of cost/manufacturing experience [ Prefer ]
