As a highly experienced Project Manager with proven knowledge and expertise from within our sector and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously from start to completion where every aspect from: costings; procurement; budget control; technical aspects; resource; supply chain management and client relationship management is owned by you – as a trusted credible expert. As such, you will be familiar with pre-empting issues and contingency planning. You’ll cultivate open and transparent relationships both externally and internally so when issues arise your solution driven mind-set mitigates challenges and provides a seamless experience based on honesty and trust to help retain customers and help grow our market share.

You’ll manage aspects of project delivery from site reporting to senior management on all issues ensuring you’re always one step ahead.  Relaying the finite details of the key aspects of your projects at regular reviews and you’ll maintain a key strategic role in client liaison and account management. You will develop, review and monitor progress of your allocated projects to ensure they are on schedule and within quality and cost estimates. You will operate as part of a team and work efficiently and effectively independently with limited supervision.   

Your judgement and decision making, and ownership will enable you to succeed as you work at a fast pace with a high attention to detail. Your primary purpose is to take full responsibility for the successful and safe execution of Service Level Agreements and Projects to budget and programme in our Transformer business serving the UK.

The Role

• To support Tendering in the order pursuit process by helping to develop capture and execution strategy.
• To achieve clarity of expectation throughout the demand and supply chain.
• SLA Management
• Taking responsibility for the scope of work and the commercial, contractual, and quality, health & safety, environmental integrity (QHSEI) requirements and implications for each project.
• Manage changes in the scope (and the associated commercial aspects) driven by client, internally or the supply chain.
• To ensure resource is allocated correctly and manage resources from:  Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality HSE and Supply Chain
• To work alongside the Sales Manager and Business Development Manager to assist in the growth of the business.
• Represent Hitachi Energy at all key project delivery meetings i.e., the principal point of contact with the client for projects.
• Manage the financial and commercial aspects of SLA’s and projects including reporting the current and forecast financial status, risks and opportunities, and project cash flows.

Your background

• 5 – 10 years Project management experience within our sector with a project engineering background
• Proven experience of project managing high value projects as well as smaller scale projects with accountability for every aspect as the sole person driving all activities.
• Financially and commercially astute and having previous experience with project planning tools.
• Knowledge of contractual obligations, SLA’s, quality, H&S and environmental aspects and supply chain management from an order and supply perspective and resource planning.
• Competent at liaising at all levels internally and externally as a credible project management expert.
• Exceptional communicator effective at translating technical detail into relatable and relevant content.
• Able to absorb and learn the technical aspects of our Transformer service – a self-starter with a thirst to continually increase knowledge and understanding.
• Proficient at running multiple projects simultaneously, working at a pace with a high attention to detail with the facts at your disposal and readily available when required.
• Highly organized with exceptional planning and prioritizing skills able to work to tight deadlines and proficient at overcoming challenges with a clear solution strategy.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability to operate with minimum supervision.
