Seize this exciting opportunity as Market Manager (Grid Automation)  to spearhead and drive business growth and support our company’s revenue goals.  Your remit is chiefly to develop our sales strategy as a response to demand in the UK market including:  third party sales, internal sales, and channels.  You will head up all the sales activity of selected accounts across the UK and expertly execute our sales team strategy.  Likewise, you’ll lead and develop meaningful relationships with customers and key accounts.  With an emphasis on developing plans, pipeline generation, marketing, enablement, in collaboration with Field Marketing and Sales teams.

This role is critical to the success of the UK region,  so as an experienced Market Manager you will combine both a depth of knowledge within our sector plus an understanding and awareness of Grid Automation, having worked in this area. You will apply insight and planning to drive Hitachi Energy Grid Automation solution propositions.  Generating a pipeline of incremental sales opportunities. With exceptional interpersonal skills, you’ll cultivate relationships internally and externally to ensure we capture every opportunity.

 The role

  • Sales & Marketing including Face-to-face and/or remote sales to new or existing customers.
  • Assessing customer needs and suggesting appropriate products, services and/or solutions.
  • Planning, developing, and delivering the marketing strategy for products/services and associated brand(s).
  • Evaluating, measuring, and managing the product/brand P&L .
  • Budgeting, managing expenditures, profitability, return-on-investment, etc.
  • Customer service and support in the form of information on product/price and resolution to issues related to billing, shipping, delivery, handling complaints and issue resolution.
  • Target driven and able to achieve results through and with others.
  • Implementing and upholding Policy, procedures, and strategy
  • Maintains a deep understanding of solutions and products and educates customers about the most relevant features/functionality for their specific business needs.


  • A Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering or similar. Experience in a Power Engineering industry, preferably within Grid Automation sector.
  • Worked within Sales Management in a technical setting, with knowledge and experience of sales and marketing tools such as Salesforce/digital marketing tools – LinkedIn Sales Navigator / similar, are necessary.
  • We are looking for a result driven candidate that can work both as an individual and as part of a team, with strong ability to plan and execute plan.
  • Traveling and frequent interaction with customers are expected, mainly within the allocated markets (UK and IE)
