Our unit Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS), based in Zürich-Oerlikon, is active in the development and production of gas insulated switching systems. We ensure the high reliability of our systems by using state-of-the-art development tools and methods.
Within the Supply Chain organization, our mission is to ensure that purchased materials for our production units always keep high quality level. As Technical Procurement Engineer you will be responsible for one or several product areas and perform preventive quality assurance along with supplier quality and development engineers.

Your responsibilities
Responsible for product complaints of supplied material from external Suppliers, including alignment with all global internal stakeholders
Drive technical supplier excellence in collaboration with the quality improvement team
Negotiate with the supplier the cost of poor quality, in collaboration with the strategic procurement team.
Drive & monitor the supplier process (such as OTD, OQD) to ensure that your supply base is and remains fully qualified and compliant.
Collaborate with technical and strategical buyers for supplier qualifications, part qualifications and drive technical negotiations.
Act as the primary contact for external Supplier change notices
Cooperate with category teams, responsible buyers, R&D/Engineering, Quality and Supplier Quality and project tender teams for special orders.
Your background
You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering and/or equivalent technical competence and working experience in manufacturing, technical procurement or production
You enjoy interacting and negotiating with suppliers from all over the world
You have a process-oriented mindset and are able to align business needs and technical requirements in a complex manufacturing environment
You are fluent in German and English language, both written and spoken
Excellent communication skills in a multicultural environment
SAP know how is an advantage
Lean 6-Sigma methods would be a plus
