The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.
He / she is responsible to collaborate with global stakeholders from production units for implementing a new or an existing product line in Engineering & Sales configurator. Coordinate with GPM & GPMM to prioritize the implementation activity aligned with road map of sales configurator for Instrument Transformer.
He / she need to demonstrate the technical skills to improvise the functionality in configurator to address business requirement and further improve the coverage of configurator. Exhibit a high level of project management skills in terms of planning, monitoring, and coordination with stakeholders. He / she must translate the business requirements to software development project with good knowledge on products and process. In this role, Candidate would be part of Configurator Implementation team at INOPC – Chennai.
Key technical interface role between software developers, subject matter expert & end users.
Prepare the business case with clear user story with analysis for development.
Has know-how of the business processes and product line (Instrument Transformer).
Offer technical support between business and development team.
Ensure all users stories are developed as per business requirement by software and clearly identify the failure modes to eliminate.
Define prioritization for Gap analysis and business case.
Drive Training activities for key users & users.
Create & maintain a high-level road map along with implementation manager and follow up for achieving the targets.
Maintain the clearly defined scope document of configurator with respect to each PU & Product line.
Responsible for costing update integration: input cost-list updates process along with SME from different product unit.
Coordinates for new implementation activities (either a new Production Unit or new product in existing PU).
Validate the configurator output with test cases prior to release.
Ensure seamless coordination to obtain all tool interfaces (SAP, e-Business, etc.) properly with configurators.
Support the development team with right information on product & logic in collaboration with SME at respective PU.
Expand configurator for new production units & ensure the configurator utilization.

Bachelor’s degree and overall experience of 7-10 years of experience in sales role / technical business analyst – software projects.
Skillset - Good communication and writing skills.
Exposure in MS Office (Excel / Power Point / SharePoint), SharePoint, Tools such as Salesforce.com, SAP and Abacus.
Experience in working on substation / high voltage products (Instrument Transformer) / sales or design or experience in factory environment.
Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
