General Responsibilities:

The Account Manager will work closely with customers (FORD) and internal teams to support commercial activity related to brake/chassis products. Account management responsibilities include acting as a main point of contact for customers, ensuring timely responses to customer inquiries, preparing sales reports and summaries, identifying growth opportunities, and working closely with internal teams to manage commercial activity related to the Brake products. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and open to learning chassis product specifications and manufacturing processes so as to communicate confidently with knowledgeable customers.

Job Summary:

Develop customer intimacy

  • Identify decision making process at customer & channel of decision
  • Establish customer intimacy in all departments as needed (Engineering, Quality, Purchasing)
  • Visit customers at site / region level in accordance with the company targets
  • Develop high level relationships to anticipate customer’s needs
  • Maintain good customers’ relationships when customers crisis happen.
  • Act within the Business Unit as the voice of the customer

Develop and Implement customer strategy

  • Based on automotive mega trends, propose, define, and implement customer strategy in order to meet the company targets in terms of growth & profitability (5 years outlook & Annual Operating Plan)
  • Define customer approach on a regional basis when appropriate
  • Prepare & develop business case in accordance with the company strategy in terms of growth & profitability
  • Translate customer’s needs into pre-selling activities
  • Promote innovative solutions and sell products at customers

Account Management

  • Improve regional customer account profitability
  • Responsible of the regional customer contracts (including, approval, signature, and application)
  • In charge of all regional acquisitions for the customer, including preselling activities
  • Analyze costs and pricing for customer brake applications
  • Receive, verify, and manage customer purchase orders
  • Support customer cost breakdown activities
  • Track and update customer contracts
  • Maintain and control project expenses
  • Support commercial aspects of product development and design changes

Team Management

  • Foster a climate of teamwork and motivation within the team by encouraging entrepreneurship mindset, professional development, and growth of employees (assessment, training, coaching and mentoring).
  • Ensure the deployment of the company communication to the team
  • Ensure appropriate work environment for the team
  • Coordinate the regional sales employees’ activities

Qualifications:

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Experience working with FORD is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Well organized, inquisitive, and independent
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while paying strict attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office tools, especially Excel and Powerpoint
  • Availability for travel, including international

Additionally, the ability to work independently with minimal direction is required as are strong verbal and written communication skills. 

Education: Possess a Bachelor/master’s degree in engineering, Business studies or equivalent

Experience: 5-10 years’ experience in sales, engineering, program management, or business development. Automotive chassis experience preferred. 

Job level determined by various factors such as organization size, responsibility, career stage, and capabilities.

Working conditions:

Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel: Domestic and international travel required.
