Description

In our R&D department in Turgi, we are currently looking for a skilled and motivated engineer to join our team of R&D specialists. Are you interested in developing control software and system design concepts for medium voltage high-power grid-connected converter applications, such as Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOMs), railway and grid interties as well as variable-speed pumped energy storage plants? Are you passionate about working in close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders and the company’s global R&D team drawing on your demonstrable communication skills? Then this job is for you!

Your responsibilities

  • Contribute to R&D projects from the initial concept stage to final product rollout

  • Analyze power converter systems, develop and assess modulation, control and protection concepts

  • Develop system simulations, program and test control and protection software on real-time simulators

  • Develop system design concepts and tools

  • Support customer project tendering and execution activities

  • Support lab testing as well as on-site installations at a domestic and international level

Your background

  • Degree (University/University of Applied Sciences) in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Power Electronics and Control

  • Industrial experience with Power Converters and/or Control Software is an advantage

  • Proficiency in the use of simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink or PSCAD

  • Team spirit with the capacity to work independently, complemented by a quick intellect and well-developed analytical skills

  • Fluent command of English, both written and spoken, preferably supplemented by German language skills

  • Experience with Codesys/ python programming would be an advantage

  • Experience with FPGA programming would be an advantage

  • Experience working in an Agile development team would be preferred
