Description
In our R&D department in Turgi, we are currently looking for a skilled and motivated engineer to join our team of R&D specialists. Are you interested in developing control software and system design concepts for medium voltage high-power grid-connected converter applications, such as Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOMs), railway and grid interties as well as variable-speed pumped energy storage plants? Are you passionate about working in close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders and the company’s global R&D team drawing on your demonstrable communication skills? Your responsibilities
Contribute to R&D projects from the initial concept stage to final product rollout
Analyze power converter systems, develop and assess modulation, control and protection concepts
Develop system simulations, program and test control and protection software on real-time simulators
Develop system design concepts and tools
Support customer project tendering and execution activities
Support lab testing as well as on-site installations at a domestic and international level
Your background
Degree (University/University of Applied Sciences) in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Power Electronics and Control
Industrial experience with Power Converters and/or Control Software is an advantage
Proficiency in the use of simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink or PSCAD
Team spirit with the capacity to work independently, complemented by a quick intellect and well-developed analytical skills
Fluent command of English, both written and spoken, preferably supplemented by German language skills
Experience with Codesys/ python programming would be an advantage
Experience with FPGA programming would be an advantage
Experience working in an Agile development team would be preferred
