Hitachi Energy is looking for an Injury Prevention Specialist (RN, LPN, or Athletic Trainer) to work 2nd shift at our Jefferson City, MO location.

Shift Hours: Monday – Friday 3:30pm – 11:30pm

The Job:

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Provide first aid for minor injuries, such as abrasions, superficial lacerations, contusions, foreign bodies in eye, sprains, strains, punctures, splinters, etc. to ascertain the need for further treatment by a physician in order to minimize the effects of the condition and to decrease the possibility of any long-term disability resulting from said condition.

  • Provides a line of communication and refers employees to appropriate services for additional assessment as needed.

  • Ability to manage follow up appointments for injured or ill employees from all shifts.

  • Initiates and maintains hearing conservation, vision, medical surveillance, and respiratory programs including medical exams.

  • Collaborates with process engineering and manufacturing management on ergonomics and musculoskeletal disorders. Conducts comprehensive ergonomic assessments of work areas utilizing employee hazard exposure data, ergonomic hazard measurement tools, employee surveys, observations, and interviews.

  • Coordinates and participates in the planning and implementation of program training, including educational training and screening programs.

  • Maintain site electronic HSE tracking system (Intelex).

  • Coordinates data management and develops reporting, tracking, and analysis.

  • Maintain employee confidentiality at all times.

  • Promote occupational and personal health programs.

  • Available for call and work during off-hours with minimal notices as needed.

  • Perform backup duties for the onsite Industrial Occupational Health Nurse as assigned.

  • Perform other functions as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

Education:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited or State approved nursing school. Must be certified and legally qualified to practice in the State of Missouri.  Required unrestricted license or certification: LPN, RN.

OR

  • Graduate of an accredited, professional Athletic Training education program required. Must be certified and legally qualified to practice in the State of Missouri.  Required unrestricted license or certification: ATC.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of nursing or athletic training experience required.  

  • Current certification in First Aid, CPR and AED required.

  • Industrial environment experience preferred.

  • Occupational Health experience preferred.

  • Excellent assessment skills.

  • Self-motivated and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with existing safety & risk control teams and HR is a must.

  • Ability to build and balance relationships between the employee, employer/operations, and service provider’s needs to keep injured workers at work or RTW as quickly as possible.

  • Assertive and independent medical decision making.

  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with good attention to detail and deliver effective presentations.

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
