Job Summary:

Plans and manages activities of a designated project(s) to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished within a prescribed time frame and within funding parameters by performing any combination of all essential duties and responsibilities as related to product launch activities. The launch program manager will be the “conductor” of new launch and current production manufacturing plant activities related to the product.  They will be responsible for change management by ensuring that appropriate approvals, review, validation, and company best practices for quality and documentation are followed. The launch program manager will lead the pre-build planning meeting with the Cross Function Team (CFT) to ensure that each build is properly supported across all departments to accomplish the stated goal for product shipment, data collection, and process development. They will have responsibility for reporting production site status in local and global cross functional meetings and will support customer requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage plant activity time lines to meet customer deliverables
    • Program timing
      • Align with PM and maintain schedule of plant activities
    • Work Order / Sample management
      • The launch program manager will lead the pre-build planning meeting with the CFT to ensure that each build is properly supported across all departments to accomplish the stated goal for product shipment, data collection, and process development.
        • Lead WO internal meeting
        • Track all processes from WO creation to shipment
        • Identify what each site team is required to meet the schedule
        • Schedule & management of build through HK processes
        • Follow up on process requirements (DN, documentation, etc)
        • Follow through on shipment process
    • Change management
      • The launch program manager will lead the change management meeting with the CFT to ensure that each change has an implementation schedule and is approved through the customer process.
        • Lead for schedule creation and implementation of SREA changes in plant.
      • Support customer change management meeting
    • Open Issues
      • The launch program manager will systematically follow up on open action items and assist in driving closure of issues to support the launch schedule.
  • Manage plant activity to meet internal deliverables
    • Phase Gate requirements and milestones
      • Align with PM overall gate schedule and lead plant preparation
    • Communication to plant management and CFT/GCFT
      • CFT/GCFT meeting: Support
      • Daily Genba: Support
      • xEV Weekly report: Support
      • Plant bi-weekly status meeting: Support
    • Open Issues
      • The launch program manager will systematically follow up on open action items related to the plant and assist in driving closure of issues to support the launch schedule.
    • KPI
      • Daily KPI meeting: Support
      • Program KLI’s: Support

Qualifications

  • Be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Be able to perform duties utilizing current company software applications
  • Have excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Perform duties in an ethical and professional manner. 
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project
  • High level of customer interface experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Well organized, detail oriented

Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management or related area preferred.

Experience: : 5 years prior related experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Have ability to work 40-60 hours per week.
  • Travel: Domestic and international travel may be required as needed.
  • Work Environment: Primarily in a professional business office with exposure to testing areas and periodic exposure to manufacturing areas.
