Description:

Senior Web/Visual Designer
The Company
A highly collaborative, rapidly-growing product development company that designs a cloud-native platform for enterprise architects, data stewards, business analysts, and administrators to unite everything in their digital ecosystem, so that they and their customers achieve better outcomes, faster. The products we design enable our customers to build complex processes with ease and familiarity through a visual interface; manage and synchronize data across domains; and control the creation, deployment and management of APIs-all made possible by making it faster and easier to link data, systems, applications, processes, and people.
The Role
As a Senior web/visual designer, you'll influence our organization and the visual experience of our platform, improving its design and usability, and citing opportunities for continued enhancements. We're looking for an experienced, T-shaped generalist (not the elusive unicorn) to join our growing UX practice. If you are a design thinking Visual Designer with strong verbal and visual communication skills, attention to detail, and a team-oriented spirit-let's talk.

Poised for exponential scale and growth in 2022, and User Experience is the core of the Company's growth strategy. We seek someone with unique skills and qualities, to add to the diversity of the User Experience organization, but we want someone who shares a knack for understanding user needs and expectations, and manifesting them in useful, usable, desirable solutions.
We want someone who takes initiative, and feedback. You'll be working side-by-side with other Product Designers, as well as the UX Researchers, Design Technologists, Content Strategists, and Technical Writers that comprise the PX Organization. We are a fluid, collaborative, cross-functional team - you'll also be working closely with Product Owners, Quality Engineers, and Developers.
This role reports to Sr. Manager UX/Product Design.
Your responsibilities:
• Take medium fidelity designs and transform it into eye-catching high fidelity designs that embalms the vision and brand of the services that Boomi provides.
• Enhance our Design System & UI Guidelines by incorporating animations to create delightful experiences.
• Design inclusively, with a demonstrated understanding of WCAG 2.1
• Design user-centered interaction models, wireframes or screen mockups, icons and infographics and collaborate with stakeholders for approval
• Develop mood boards and color studies
• Design with consistency, and an attention to detail
• Effectively manage "up" and across
Essential requirements:
• A top notch & complete portfolio that illustrates your sense of color and design; You also understand how to use scale and contrast, balance and hierarchy across the design.
• A solid foundation in design, layout and typography
• Bachelor's or associate degree in graphic design, visual arts, or similar.
• 7+ years of experience as a visual designer, or similar.
• Advanced proficiency in visual design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite's InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Figma experience is a strong plus as it is the tool of choice for the design team.
• Professional experience in the design of complex business systems and applications,
or product development, with some experience leading those efforts
• Exceptional verbal and visual communication skills, along with presentation and negotiation skills
• A demonstrated understanding of excellence over perfection - you must be comfortable working nimbly, with 'just enough' data to make informed decisions and operate within a fast-paced agile environment
Desirable skills:
• A considered, clearly-articulated design philosophy, and a developing understanding of business acumen
• Experience working in Agile environments, and a familiarity with SaaS products
• A 'niche' area of strength, e.g., technical abilities, familiarity with HTML and CSS, conceptual design abilities, visual design, design systems, or content strategy
• Involvement in the UX community
• The ability to provide and accept constructive feedback in a timely and direct manner - Radical Candor is our team's feedback framework
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• The desire to collaborate, with the ability to operate with minimal oversight
Team Core Values:
• Be Scrappy: Commit to doing your best with the time and resources available; be nimble, lean, and flexible.
• Collaborate Respectfully: Provide a safe space for the exchange of ideas and feedback; communicate clearly and candidly; engage in active listening.
• Demonstrate Open-minded Curiosity: Ask questions, try new things, and recognize that there is always more to learn.
• Give a Damn: Demonstrate your passion for the work, the Content and UX communities, and helping others grow; challenge respectfully, but directly.
• Take Ownership: Show accountability by taking responsibility for your work and actions; show leadership by looking out for others.
