General Responsibilities:

Under general direction of a lead engineer or manager, the primary responsibility of this position is

to lead and coordinate RFQ activities, deliver design proposals that meet customer requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of this position includes, but is not limited to:

  • Review all engineering requirement in RFQ package (design transmittal, initial CAD provided, packaging envelop, design variation complexity, engineering specification, etcs)
  • Lead design proposal with the support from CAD group, CAE group, Advance Engineering to ensure all customer engineering is met.
  • Once the design proposal is completed, release all components and assembly drawing to CFT. CFT will include Business planning, Purchasing, Production Engineering, QA to provide necessary cost input for final quotation.
  • Proposal any alternative design that can provide customer lower cost solution or additional performance enhancement technology to increase sale price/profit.
  • Prepare technical review material and present design proposal to customer.
  • Knowledge of TS16949 requirements to support job responsibilities.

Support and facilitate necessary CAD/CAE activity related to new technology development.

Qualifications (Education, Skills and/or special Knowledge):

The ideal candidate will:

  • Prior experience on chassis component and damper is preferred.
  • Have working knowledge and experience with APQP program management
  • Be proficient with
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
    • Microsoft Project
  • Experience with the following is desired, (not required)
    • CAD software (i.e. CATIA V4, V5, UG, Solidworks)
    • CAE/FEA software (ie.. ANSYS)
  • Have experience tracking and reporting design changes.

Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering (Mechanical or equivalent)

Experience: minimum of 5 years applicable experience in related field

Supervisory Responsibilities:  N/A

Job level determined by various factors such as organization size, responsibility, career stage, and capabilities.  The ability to work as core coordinator of a global cross functional team applying effective verbal and written communication skills is a must. Ability to travel and support activities and coordination at the global level is required.

Working conditions:

Physical Demands: Able to perform light physical work consistently and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally

Travel: Some domestic and some international travel.
